The Code of Canon Law, Section 537, requires a Finance Committee to be established in each parish. The committee is to advise the pastor on all financial matters regarding the operation of a parish.
Members of the St Lawrence Finance Committee are appointed by the Pastor and the committee meets with the Pastor, Parochial Vicar, and Finance Manager on a quarterly basis to consider and review contracts and major expenditures required to keep our parish operating and planning for future financial contingencies.
The Finance Committee also participates in the development and approval of the parish operating budget for each fiscal year and advises the Pastor on all capital expenditures and projects.
