SHARE WITH THOSE LESS FORTUNATE
SHARE SUNDAY is the weekend of July 17-18 and will help restock Koinonia’s food pantry. Most needed items: Canned tomatoes, corn, baked beans, and chili; Canned salmon, sardines, and spam; Cereal, mayo, ketchup, mustard, jelly, salad dressing, Masa, sugar, flour, flavored rice or pasta, healthy snacks, laundry detergent, dish and dishwasher detergent, women’s adult diapers size Medium, baby diapers size 6, and gift cards to Aldi, Lidl, Giant or Dollar Tree. Any of these non-perishables may also be left in the Narthex donation bin throughout the month.
FRESH GARDEN VEGETABLES: Koinonia would also like to offer fresh foods to their clients and requested donations of vegetables throughout the summer. If you have a garden and are interested in “donating a row” or any amount of produce, you can drop off items at Koinonia, 6037 Franconia Rd (small building in parking lot), M, T, W, F 9am-12:30pm, Thurs 9am-4pm, and the second Sat only of each month 9am-12:30pm. Another drop-off option is the drive-thru event described below.
DRIVE-THRU DROP-OFF: The drive-thru food collection has returned this month as Koinonia’s food supply is low! To donate food, especially garden vegetables or items from the Share Sunday list above, please drive up to the cones in front of St. Lawrence church on Sat. July 17 from 1-4 pm where outdoor bins staffed by volunteers will be available. Thank you!
Thank you for all your support these past months!
